1st gear on my 93 z28?

ok i have a 93 z28 with the 4l60.as you all know on 93 (and maybe 94) you cant drop your gear shifter down to low gear only 2nd, drive, and overdrive.anyway i heard that there is a clip that you can break or remove to be able to shift into 1st.is this true and if it is where is it and how do i do it?please try to be specific and pics would help too.thanks guys!

Could be no one was helping because you posted on the wrong forum. This is LT1/LT4 ENGINE Tech

The thing with the shifter select is
If you have 2.73 gears, it goes 2 D OD, etc
If you have 3.23 gears, it goes 1 2 D OD etc

I have P R N D 3 2 1 on my car but I have 2.73 gears

The ONLY for sure way to tell is to open the axle and look at the gears. Second best is to look at RPO codes (GU2 is 2.73).

As for the clip so you can pull it in to first, it's more of a block of plastic. I took a dremel to mine and now I can pull it to first. I won't go in to detail since you said you found an answer.
