i recently bought a 94 z28 that needed a transmission. after putting rebuilt tranny in it appears to be in limp mode if i put it into 2nd it will shift through 1st and 2nd but it i then shift it into d or od it downshifts back to 1st. and after so long it will just act like its in nuetral no matter what gear its in. if i turn car off for a minute or two it will go back in gear and move again. when i was under it putting tranny in i noticed the fans were hotwired to come on when key is on. i hooked up original wiring and they never come on. could this possibly be a bad pcm? any input is much appreciated.

 

Did you install a 1994 transmission? Any other year trans will throw it in limp mode.

BTW, "Limp mode" is 3rd gear starts, and no upshifts. LM will never make it seem like it's in neutral. I'm going to bet something is messed up in your new transmission...
