There are a couple of people making big power with a t56. Its just gooan cost a big penney. You may want to give G-Force a call or even D&D Peformance. They will get you were you want to be .

G-Force has a race prep trans for about $5800. You can beat the hell out of it all day.You will break everything but that tranny.

No T56 is going to stand up to 1,200hp fo r long if the car hooks up at all. However, since there may be just a handful of 1,200hp small blocks out there, do you really need a tranny that strong??? If you can afford a 1,200hp motor, you can afford the tranny, so don't worry about the price! The strongest T56 in general use is from G-Force. Price depends on exactly what you choose, but figure in the $6K range plus another $1,200 or so for the Street Twin. Another $3K for the rear end and a driveshaft and you will have a good $10K in your drivetrain.

The strongest manny tranny that could be adapted is a Lenco. But that would be far from plug and play. You would need a custom bellhousing and clutch setup along with the $6K tranny. It is truly good for 1,200hp though. Top gear is limited to 1:1 but you could do a 5-speed with 2.73's and effectively still have an OD ratio. I serioulsy considered this at one point. It's feasible, but very, very expensive. The tranny tunnel would need to be modded as well, and so on.

Have fun and start filling your piggy-bank!
