$500 for gear install??
I still gotta get my gears IN my ar and not sitting around. I'm hitting the track this Friday with new DR's and a Fuddle 3k stall so I may HAVE to. I got a sneaky feeling its not gonna make it through the night.
Even a free install that isnt done right isn't worth the price in broken parts. One of your guys wanna come to Alabama and install them while I watch? I'm on the lake so free fishing and dinner!!

Basically I decided to do them myself. I did two sets of gears in my automotive class about 4 years ago and the only part I had problems with was setting the backlash. I have a friend who does them all the time and he is going to set the backlash for me.
Gear install = free!!!! Boy does my pocket like that!

If you can't do that, then I wouldn't do them yourself. That's where you need the multitude of spacers available to get the carrier positioned "just so", once you get the pinion installed to its required depth in the housing
