What's you plans for next year??

I'm doing heads and cam.

You can track my progress here.

Heads and Cam Swap

Hopefully I should have it running late Feburary or March time frame, just in time for the racing season to start.

Loosing the A/C, rear seat, & sway bars, converting from a M6 to Turbo 400 and winning one more bracket race than I did last year. Acutally want to win a lot more than last year.

Hold yourself to that time frame Ken! I know how timeframes get stretched out!! LOL

My plans.
aluminum adjustable spoiler
Wolfe sway bar
coil over conversion on front
tubular a-arms on front
chute
hal 12 ways on back
wilwood front discs

the things I dont have are the coil overs, a-arms, wilwoods and chute.
The rest is here or on the way.

I'll easily be done before racing season starts. Looking for low 9's.

Right now I am between sponsors. Therefore plans are up in the air.

I had planned to run (3) classes at New England Dragway but now there is a lot of uncertaintly about that...

The goal is to win our local National event, the local points series, and qualify for the Bracket Finals and win that. High goals.

I need to freshen the motor, open up the exhaust, find a truck and trailor, and figure out a quick release system where I can clip in a delay box and then unclip it quickly so I can run both Top and Modified in the Camaro, and then I would like to run Street in my tow vehicle. It all depends on money.

Ted,
What will you do in your spare time?

As far as my plans go:
Put the lower gear set in the tranny
Upgrade rear to a 12 bolt and no I didn't blow up the 7-1/2, I just can't get the 5.13's for it, lol.
Rework the rear suspension a bit so it will actually hook.
And of course, forge ahead with the new 305 combo or maybe something dif for the Nationals, never know what will show up under that hood.

1. freshen up shortblock (rings, bearings)
2. headwork
3. new cam
4. convert current 6-point bar to a full 12-point cage (G-Force race cars at http://www.gforceracecars.com/home.htm is doing the work)
5. some sort of tranny upgrade
6. rebuild clutch
7. new blower with intercoolers (upgrade from S-trim to D1-SC)
8. 1LE suspension pieces
9. C5 brake conversion
10. 17" rims with G-Force tires for the street
11. 28" slicks for the track
12. tune for 200-250hp nitrous (currently running 150 shot)

It sort of grew, when I list it all it seems like a lot of stuff! Goal is 9's in a fully equipped street car with full emissions.

I'm doing heads and a cam too, among a few other minor things.

Mods for 2002

I have most of the parts I need and the heads are almost done. I'll flow numbers in about 2 weeks and the cam is a GM #847. The car should be done by late March.

goals

We tore the car down last weekend trying to get ready for the Spring Shootout in San Antonio.

We're going with a full Wolfe chromoly roll cage
Aerospace brakes on all 4 corners
Very rigorous DIET (for the car)
Headwork (GTP of course), maybe a cam.
MadMan suspension.

Goals are a sub 6 second 1/8th mile pass @ 120mph
and I'd like a bottom 9 @ 150 in the 1/4.

I think the power is there, I just need to make a clean pass.

We had ALOT of problems last year, the car kept missing at high RPM, so we're changing valve springs and redoing the ignition. Hopefully that will cure it. We had alot of traction problems too, hence the new madman suspension...

Oh yeah, We'll be "Long Haulers" on the 2003 Hot Rod Power Tour too!

Good luck everybody!

Well. I have a set of GTP Stage 2 Heads in the garage waiting to be installed. I am getting a FLP Level 4 Trans with my stall uped to 3600. After that I am getting a few little things here & there. I will not be installing my Heads until I run an 11 second run with the Hot Cam on stock heads. I want to be like Ken. If I get my goal, that same week I will install the Heads I also am toying with the Idea of going a bit bigger on the cam also but will make that a game time decision. I would like 400 rwhp but I seriously doubt I'll get that with the Hot Cam. I would be happy with 380 too. Then if $$$ is not an issue before next year is over, I might have to add one more little mod that is "No Laughing Matter". Hoping to run consistant mid 11's next year.

Im possibly staying a bolt on car for now. Looking to do the following first:
1. BMR Subframe Connectors, Lower Control Arms, Relocating Brackets. Competition Engineering Rear Shocks and V6 Springs.
2. Weld Draglights 15X5 in the front and 15x10 in the rear.
3. QA1 Adjustable Shocks in Front with QA1 Front Springs.
4. 48MM TB bored out to a 52MM.

With all of this im looking to start cutting some 1.5xx 60 foot times and 12.5-12.6 quater mile times.

Then probably after summer I will be looking to add a CC306 Cam, Comp "R" Lifters, and a LT4 HD Timing Chain. With this add I hope to trap around 109 MPH and get into the low 12.2-12.3xx times.

After that it should be around fall and I will look into a few other things to get my car in the 11.9xxx and then the car will be done.

Give the car to the wife to enjoy at the strip and hook up with a Buick GN, Buick GNX or Buick Regal T-Type.

This is exactly what I said & probably 90% of everyone else too. The car is never done... I was supposed to be done once I hit the low 12's. Well now it is the low 11's where I set my "Done" point for the car..

I finally just gave up on the idea of keeping my car a daily driver

Want to have done by early march

1. Coan th350 with transbrake / 4500-5000 8" converter
2. 9" rear with 4.10 gears and spool
3. solid Motor mounts
3. Dynatech Metal Matrix driveshaft
4. Spohn race version torque arm
5. Billingsly LCA's and P.rod
6. Hal 12-way front shocks / hal springs , Comp eng. 3-way rears with a bag
7. Weld Pro stars
8. low mount alternator
9. Removing the air bags and wiring , ABS , power steering , carpet sound deadener , all rear speakers
10. I'm also gonna have Speed Inc. dyno tune the car this spring b4 race season starts .

Lots of lil crap to do . Car "should" be done in time

Next fall comes a solid roller 396 . I also may look into buying a rolling chassis coupe to transfer all my stuff over to . I guess that all depends how light I can get the convertible while still maintaining a full interior and appearence of a street car
