What gear would I be in at the big end?

What gear would I be in at the big end?

My car has gone 12.53 @ 112 on radials so far, on motor. When we slicked it up, it broke the rear. I almost have it back together and am going to spray it. Question is- I have 4.11s, so does anyone have any idea what rpm and gear I will be at at the end of the track with a 150 shot? We have 26x10 ET drags. I can't remember exactly where the car was on motor when it went throught the traps.

You "should" be in high gear, 1:1, not overdrive when you cross the finish line if everything is set up properly. You should cross at or just before your shift point. I've had my shift light come on at the 1000' mark. Shifting at 6800 and cross the traps around 7000.

I know where I "want" to be, I'm trying to figure out if the car will be able to go through the traps in the top of 4th on the gas. On an internet calc it says that 6500 is 123mph in 4th. I figure the car would go near that, maybe more. Does anyone have any practical T56 experience with gearing and say 6500 - 6800 rpms?

On a 150 shot youll run out of gear. on a 26" slick, itll grow a tad, your good to around 125mph tops. On a 150 shot, a 112-113 trap will grow to around a 127mph trap. Run 3.90s or a taller tire.

I think the above is probably right, but you won't know for sure until you try it, so why speculate?
