Thumbs up Track results with single turbo IROC

Got two runs today. The first one my hood popped loose but didnt come off. There was a single strip of "duct tape" on it since we havent got the front hood pins on yet. It came loose. I let off to a 12.20 @ 88mph.

Go up and make the second run and I come back to the pits and there is oil spewed out onto the engine. We have a vacuum leak at the front and back of the intake. So, it only limited me to 5 psi of boost

Here is the run down of that second run though

60': 1.67
1/8: 7.08 @ 100.3
1/4: 10.95 @ 126.49

I cant wait to see what this thing is going to do with 25psi of boost!!

Guido. Do you guys make any bolt on kits? I am sure you have been asked this a million times. I didn't see your car at the site in your sig. What would be the cost of a single or dual system. I don't know much about turbos. I think if I drop the compression on my car it is a perfect candidate though.

Very nice for how it was acting!! That engine wants more boost!!!
Looks like it's hooking up decently too!

Congrats on the new times. I bet it feels awesome to have it back on the track.

Are the heads studded or bolted down. You might wind up trying to lift the heads off the block with that much boost.

It also sounds like you need some sort of crankcase ventellation system like a moroso vacuum pump system.

Congrats, man! That car should be a serious competitor once you get things lined out! 25 psi should be a helluva ride! Good to see a fellow 3rd gen making heads turn!
BTW...how do you like edgewater? Ive heard it doesnt hook very good..

My heads are bolted using ARP bolts.

I thought about using studs but was warned that I might not be able to get the heads off with the engine in the car. With the kind of boost I want to run down the road, it sure would suck to have to yank the motor out if I blow a headgasket.

I think it is time for a vacuum pump too. If I can find room for it in there. its pretty cramped!

LETHALRACER,
I dont sell these kits. I built this one for myself. It was a bit tough. I dont know if Id want the liability if someone messed something up on their car because of somethign I fabricated. LOL

Its hit and miss. At least my experience. On test n tune days, like today, it is not a very good hooking track because there are a lot of street tire cars.

Ive got good 60's there before though. *shrug*

I understand the liability issue. It looks like the hardest part would be the header. Thanks for the reply.
