which torque arm?

Im thinkin of installing a th400 with manual valvebody (pretty sure Im doin it already) and need a TA that doesnt bolt to the transmission. also, I want one that will actually help me hook and live up to the abuse I hope to be throwin at it next year. the car has a moderatly built 383. nothing fancy but it should be putting down somewhere in the area of 400-415rwhp. Im guessing based on other people's combo's but I built it for a 250 shot of juice. the N20 will be a 2 stage kit, I think I'll do 100/150. while Im def. not made of money, I dont want to buy the cheapest TA either cause I want it to last. so whats your recomendations? Ive seen the bmr TA that has a crossmember welded across the SFC's, and that would work if its the best choice cost/purpose, but I hate that its soo low to the ground, and it will make it harder to go to true duals later if I decide to do that with this car.

so what are the other options out there besides the bmr, or should I just use that one?

My buddy put a Spoon(sp) set up in his 3rd gen. Their kit for swaping a th350/400 is very nice, install was easy and quality is good. Havent seen it in action yet, so i can't comment on proformance.

Here is a link, but if you think the Spohn piece is expensive, you ain't gonna like the price on the Madman one.

You pay for what you get though. If you do not have the entire suspension set up right then just adding one part is not going to help alot. Just be sure to do it right the first time

Re: which torque arm?

well, part of the reason I asked is cause Ive heard of guys goin mid 11's on the stock suspension. in the back I have air bags, boxed control arms/poly bushings, bigger sway bar and in the front no front sway bar. I have LG sfc's waiting to go one, and I have drag lites with et streets. I will eventually have front QA1's also, but not till next year for sure. who makes the one Ive seen that bolts to a small crossmember that goes in place of the tunnel brace? seems that one had lots of clearance for things and would be a bolt in piece unlike the weld in crossmembers.

bmr, spoon, and madmans all make one that bolts in a different spot than the stock trans mount
