Angry Stuck in mid 13's..(:

Went to Milan (MI) again yesterday and could only manage a 13.591 1/4 ET @ 104.70mph (my 60' was 2.187), I launched at 2500rpm. All morning I was trying to launch at different rpm's 1800-2500, I even tried a 3500rpm launch in 2nd gear (14.5 ET). Either Milan traction is seriously bad (which I'm leaning towards or I'm doing something wrong. Because in these boards I'm reading that people are getting high 12's to low-13's. Any suggestions? Also, I'm unsure how high of an rpm I can launch without breaking my rear-end.

I can't tell you about your launch rpm I have an a4. Some of my friends leave at 4500. Get your 60' times in the 1.9 and you'll be in the high 12's or low 13's. Look at my 60' time in my sig. There old I haven't updated lately, since the new mods, but that'll give you something to go by.

I have some 1.9 - 1.8 60' times now.

The 3500 launch in second gear probably wasnt very friendly on the clutch Do the other cars similar to yours run that far off from you? The 60 could use a little work but if your on the street tires its not all THAT bad depending on your track.

Z-OwNEr, yes other cars similar to mine run better (usually 12.8-13.2 ETs). I'm running on street tires, also (Nitto 555ZR's). The reason why I wonder, is that other posts from people who have gone to the same strip post better 60' and ETs with similar setups. I guess I'll have to try a different strip and see if it's just me.

btw, I figured WTH on the second gear start, but I won't do it again.

Mine is only a 98 and I run 13.00 at 110, with basically the same mods as you (See mods in sig, minus the twin disk, which I have not been to the track with yet)
I have Nittos at 14 psi, and I dump the clutch at 3000 RPM and HOOK! Then I power shift at 6000 which is more like 6200 due to lag. My best 60' is 1.92 I average 2.0XX.

Dude - I just ran at Milan tonight. It was hooking awesome for Milan. Normally Milan doesn't hook well at all though. Something weird was just going on tonight. I cut 3 different 2.0x 60 ft times on my stock Eagle GS-C's.

When I did the initial mods to my '02 Z28, I did one between each run so I could see approx. what each gave me. I tried to keep it accurate by sticking to the same lane, same launch technique, etc so I could see real the real gains. The SLP Lid, Holley power shot and ported MAF ends gave me about 2 mph bumping me from 106 mph to 108 mph. Invest $35 in an exhaust cutout. Before doing the aforementioned mods, I opened up my cutout and it gave me a full mph!!! I don't think you are realizing the full potential of your mods because your exhaust is so restricitive. I bet you'll see close to a 2 mph gain with a cutout because it will make your other mods more effective. Just my opinion though.
