Thumbs up The convertible is almost ready........

to race again. We are going to run in the PRO Fastest Street Car Series. After a few attempts to race Heads-Up, stock suspended, stock block f-bodies with little to no turn out we had to find a place to race. The combo is being built to run in Vortech Extreme Street....for more info and rules go here.

www.fasteststreetcar.com

I think a few other people, such as Madman are building combos for this class. So far the cars are running 8.50's-9.0's.
If you want to check out how the 'vert is coming along here are some pics....

Good to see its almost back together again!!! That will certainly be an unusual combo, compared to what everybody else is running. Will be odd to see a heavyweight convert running 8's..... .

In the end, it always takes way more time (and probably $$$) than you expect, but the end results are sure so justify the wait.

GOOD LUCK!

George, good to see it's going to be running again and even faster than it was! Is that still an LT1 based engine or is it SBC?

Thanks guys

Six months behind schedule and still close to one month from completion.
Hope it's worth the wait? LOL

Fred
I found a class "Xtreme Street" that you have to weigh 3530 to run a supercharged 383. A good place to sick my overweight toy

Tim
It should be at the track in three to four weeks. We will be at Island and Atco every chance possible. Getting the car to run consistent mid 8's with no wheelie bars is going o be a challenge that will require a lot of chassis set up. It won't be easy, but I'm sure Bryan and myself will figure it out.

Speeds8erM-1
With no place to race the LT1 competitively in a heads-up venue and the need for more HP to run in "Xtreme Street" I changed to a Dart Block.
This year the car will weigh 200lbs less and the motor will have 200+ more HP
If I can keep it on the ground??? it should be a FUN ride.

It's still TA stock suspended, exactly like last year.
The plan is to be in Memphis for the PRO event. I'll have plenty of beer
BTW I was talking with Madman and he is also going to try and make that event.

Ken
Different plates are on order.

Charged
Thanks!
If it goes straight and stays on the ground? It should be in the 8's the first trip to the track.

Tim
The car will be out of the body shop in a couple of days. With any luck the engine will be off the Dyno by the end of next week.
I'll let you know when we're going to the track. Right now it looks like Island in four weeks.

George
