redline on lt1

Where is the redline on an LT1 M6

Ive been shifting at 5,000 rpm
but i think its killing my times

how high should i be shifting
~5,200 ?

Isn't there a redline on your Tach? Try 5800 and see how that works ..

I beleive the stock rev limiter is at 5800 rpms. I shifted at 5600 when the car was stock. Also remember the dash tach isn't very accurate. I hooked up a shift light for more accurate shift rpms.

is there such thing as a shift light that you dont have to also install a tach for? I dont run a MSD or anything like that

several companys make stand alone shift lights. MSD for example has 2; one has a dial on the back you set for the shift point, the other uses their rpm pills.

At the track I ran mine up to 6200 a couple of times. I had LTs/TD so it still pulled hard up there...

i run first out to 6k and every shift at 58-59 after that by way of stock tach
