racing seats

I know there are alot of poeple here that have racing seats. I'm interested in getting some and I was looking at D.A.D. seats. They look pretty nice and arent too exspensive. Anyone actually have these or know of someone who does? How do they like them?

My boyfriend and dad have Kirkey Racing Seats in their race cars. They can be a bit pricey once you start adding the covers though.

I don't know what kind mine is but it's much less expensive - something along the lines of this.

yeah i was looking at the kirkley seats for a while. i found myself wanting a little more "flare". i want something like a stock seat but has a more "race car" feeling. meaning, something that reclines, already covered, just the usually like everyone else gets. i see all the imports and their seats they have in it. i think it looks good, it functions like a racing seat, thats why i was wondering about the d.a.d. seats. i hear great things about sparco and the rest...but never anything about d.a.d.

thanks for the input!

Never heard of "D.A.D.", but a web search turned up enough info to suggest that they are nor really something you might call a "racing seat", at least not in the eyes of the average drag racer.

Dynamic Auto Design has done it again with their new class of fully reclinable, lighter, and comfortable racing seats. These are EXACT replicas of the Sparco racing seats as seen in the Fast and the Furious, but for HUNDREDS less. All racing seats are of highest quality and include universal mounting racks and instructions.
At 38# each, they are no lighter than the factory seats. My Corbeau is 16#.... but it doesn't recline, and I doubt anyone used one in The Fast and the Furious.

Yikes $399!!! And 38# is definitely on the heavy side.

Fred: I thought you told me that was your favorite movie though? j/k

If it has anything to do with The Fast and Furious croud, rest assured that sanctioned drag racers should probably stay away.

Injuneer, I didnt see any of those specs when I checked it out on the web. D.A.D. stands for dynamic auto design or something like that. I'm not looking for a cheaper seat, just "looking" at different brand names. There are a few poeple that have them in there F-bod and I was just curious to see how they were. I think I do want to stick with a Corbeau. Anything that has something to do with fast and furious i dont want to touch...i hate that stupid movie.

I don't even like the fact that my seat had a big "CORBEAU" logo, emboidered in silver on the back of the seat.... I colored the logo black to match the seat.

The Sparco "S-Lite" weighs 8#.... but $5,000 a pair is a little out of myh price range.
