My father in law has a 78 vette and likes to talk crap. He took it to the drags last night and it ran 13.7XX at 101 with a 2.27 60 ft. I really need to beat this car, My best run is 14.05 @ 102.04 with a 2.372 60 ft. I know my 60 stinks, but the track prep was horrible. Should I get lca, or relocation brackets, or add a little more HP? Drag radials aren't practical for me, I only have one set of rims and I have to drive this car every day, and I heard DR suck in the rain. Any advice would be appreciated. Its an M6 too. Thanks
Getting it to hook and come out of the hole is where it's at
The Nitto's are better in the rain than BFG's from what I've heard. I ran BFG's on the street quite a bit as I'd get lazy and not change over and had no issues with driving in the rain untill they were pretty toasty and I don't car what kind of tires you have it they're bald then you will have issues. I've since bought a set of Nitto's to try them as my everyday street tire as I anticipate traction being an issue
LCA's and/or relocation brackets won't help if you don't have decent tires.
I picked up a second set of rims for $ 130ish used. Call around I think I picked them up somewhere in Concord but that was a few years ago or see if Rich still has them in the New England section as I think he was trying to sell them (Rich97z28)
It was good to meet you the other day at NED, I didn't get a chance to swing by again later but I'm sure we'll hook up at some point in time.
Once I get my Z back from the shop and I'm at NED I'll swap tires and let you try the Nitto's and then you'll be ordering a set

Thanks for the advice on the tires! I know I could be running better but these tires I have were the cheapest I could find, due to the fact tires don't seem to last too long on the rear
I'll look into drag radials this week. I have to beat this vette or be doomed to perpetual harassment by my father in law!!!
I should be at NED this wednesday, stop by!
