you are missing the point. My times and speeds were low for the mods i have. I want to fix that first. Modding on a foundation that is unknown is just plain stupid. I want to max out the potential for what i have before moving to more power or anything else

Updated - 2/20

Well today i got a number of things fixed:

-Torque Convertor solenoid fixed
-Re-locate tranny temp sending unit into exiting coolant lines
-Install mechanical line-pressure guage in engine bay
-Refill AC compressor
-Compression Test
-Leakdown Test
-NGK TR55 spark plugs
-Taylor 10.4 mm wires
-Walbro 255 lph pump (did last week)

Turns out my wires were pretty bad (they were MSD) I guess the resistance is supposed to be around 50. Well, only 2 of them were. 5 of them were between 500 and 1000!!! and one was completely dead!! So for who knows how long, I've been running on 7 cylinders! So they were replaced with the Taylor 10.4mm wires. The car feels soooo smooth now. It didn't feel rough before...but now with everything fixed, it feels buttery smooth and stronger too! It feels so much better.

On friday I'll be getting a tune, so i'll finally have some new dyno numbers and a trip to the track in the next month - to find my 12 sec 1/4 mile

Re: Not what i expected

well, got the car tuned and with the problems fixed I got 314rwhp and 335rwtq. Its only a gain of 1 & 7 respectively, but I'm happy with it as some people lose power through a converter.

Did find a new problem though (glad we found it), my valves are floating at 5k+ rpm. My power was dropping off before it could peak, so I'm putting some LS6 Valve Springs and Manley Chrome Molley Pushrods in next week. That may pick up a few peak hp, since its having float at 5k+ right now. In mid April I'm going back to the track!

Valve float!! No, that's not good! Good thing you caught that . Could you hear it? Did it sound like pinging (detonation) or what?

I agree with your logic though. Get the car working as best as it can with your current mods, and leave the 2.73's. The car should be performing better than it has even with those gears. Once you're satisfied that it's doing the best it can, then start playing more with lower gears, etc. .

Re: Not what i expected

couldn't hear it, but it does show up on my dyno graph. I have a Very nice smooth curve and about 5100 rpm the graphs starts darting up and down like 10 times all the way to 5800 where the motor decided to limit it....wierd. The springs and rods go in on Sat.
