new world record 60'

to the best of my knowledge a new record for stock suspension lt1 came friday november 26th @ carolina dragway as chris tuten pulled a 1.245 60' in john mikes '96 t/a. car weighs in at 3500# w/driver and has stock suspension with adj. shocks and aftermarket tq arm. probably the most impressive thing was that the temp was near 30 degrees and ice was forming on the tops of cars. most cars couldn't even make it down the track that night and we actually had one try and go over the wall trying (pictures on carolinas website). congrats to the team at BMF racing.

Congrats. What does your car run in the 1/4 tubby? I would like to go with a Procharger in the near future. Later Clint

Re: new world record 60'

Mike Browns/Steve Turley's best 60 was 1.18 in the 96 formula, but it was stuffed with a ls1. What catagory do they fit in? lol. They also broke a rossler 400 turbo input shaft on that launch too.

400 turbo, midwest convertor, moser 9 inch, BMR LCA/PHB/drag sway bar/torque arm,and Wolfe wheelie bars is as much as i know.

Re: new world record 60'

I think the claim Tubby is making is for a stock suspension lt1

Regardless whether it's an LT1 or LS1, a 1.24 60' is still impressive

Don't mean to rain on anyones parade, but the timers are not allways accurate. Thats why records have to be "backed up" before they become official.

Re: new world record 60'

i was going off of stock suspension lt-1. also i will say this claim isn't as credible as i would like. the only person i could verify with was joe overton. so if someone has a quicker 60 please chime in.

Depends on what record you're shooting for, right?
I know the car is fast, i would guess in the single digits on a clean pass. I do not know the condition of the track past 60' on this particular night but from what I have read, it was a bit icy....

Re: new world record 60'

i did not post the ET due to the fact it's a grudge car and i didn't have permission to post those numbers. also i am aware that numbers should be backed up but first off this isn't exactly something your going to find in any NHRA or IHRA record book. it's just T&T night at jackson. second, it was the last night for the track season.
