New times with new setup!

For the ones that don't know I've just switched from injected LT1 383 to a carbed SBC 383 and wanted to give an update. Well, I took the car to the track Sat and the first pass out it ran a 6.45 @ 103 with a 1.44 60ft, and the reason for the slow 60ft is because the car did a 100ft long wheelstand and tripped the 60ft beams with the rear tires. I made three more passes with the same result and near identical et, 6.47, 6.46, and 6.44. I know if I can get the frontend to stay down it will be faster, so that is my focus now.

I also want to give a big thanks to Ron and Phil at Advanced Induction for the great cyl heads, their the heat.

Nice

What are your plans to keep the front down?

I want to get a video of some passes, but will see if I can atleast get some pics.

As for getting the front to stay down, I was thinking of taking some rear gear out of it, but that may make it alittle lazy in the heat, so right now I'm looking at possiblly getting a set of wheelie bars, but I'd rather find another way.

Thinking I will try taking some timing out to soften the launch. I'll let you know how it goes, if I don't get rained out.

I had coaxed it to a 6.55 @ 101 mph, but I was running a 1.96 first gear in the glide when it ran that vs a 1.76 first gear now, and the 6.55 was on a race night compared to a less prepped TnT session for the 6.44. I gained a good 2 tenths with the new setup, and with some seat time should be able to get it into the 6.3's. Just to let everybody that doesn't already know, Advanced Induction is the bomb!!

Great times and I'm sure it will get faster.

I'm about to cut up my cowl in a similar fashion for a carbed LS1.

Randy thats great but I can help you keep the frontend down w/o wheeliebars, It's call frontend limiters. Madman sells them for F-bodys for real cheap and they help a ton. Try that and it will definately keep the front down. http://www.madmanandcoracing.com/
