Not knowing much about your short block I would say that you can't expect much more out of the Hot Cam with LT4 heads. With more cam you probably make more torque to get those 60's down.

Another way would be to keep playing with the converter and tuning. If you maximize the converter and tuning I am sure you can get 11's. What the cost will be to get there would be the major question.

This I might agree with...That is one reason I thought of going to 4.10s so that I would get back some 1st gear ratio but I think I will just keep my 3.73s for now.

I do have a 700R4 sitting here waiting to be rebuilt with a Manual VB and all the whistles. Could you help me out on this? PM with specifics if you wish.

I think the car will do 11s like it is but with some more playing with tuning and launch technique. I noticed on the run that I stalled it to 3k, it still went 12.teens with a 1.70 60', where I was launching off idle to a 12.teen with a 1.67/1.66 60'...so who knows....

Shon,
The problem with the manual valvebody 700 is this...It's a REVERSE pattern. Nobody makes a reverse pattern gate type shifter for a 4 speed.
I'm not a big fan of rev valvebodies anyway. Think of it like this...If something goes in the drivetrain during a run, you've got to DOWNSHIFT to get to nuetral.
My non manual valvebody 700 is working great. I manually shift it at 6000-6200 while racing, but if I want to grab a Big Mac on the ride home, I can eat it while letting it shift itself...LOL
For a 700 with "all the bells and whistles", I get $1000.

I hear ya and see what you are talking about. Let me do some thinking on this idea...Do you retain Lock up in 3rd and 4th?
Can I run low 11s on motor with it and then spray on top of that?

FYI-I did get 14.5MPG on the way back from the race track with the TH350, I thought that was pretty good considering....

I'm using a non lock-up 9.5" ProTorque converter.
