New setup...need some advice...

Ok, I have recently installed the following items:

Strange 12 bolt w/ 4.10's, BMR non adj. torque arm, Lakewood LCA's, Relocation brackets, Spohn Extreme Duty DS, and a set of Bogart D-10's with Hoosier QTP 27x11's.

This was put on a car that already had the following:

Stock motor with an HPP, Edelbrock shorties, Mac catback, KYB AGX adjustables up front, Kenny Brown DD SFC's, !front sway bar, Hotchkis springs, and a pair of custom valved DeCarbons out back.

Since this will essentially be my first time to the track on drag tires I have a few questions. What would be a good baseline tire pressure for the QTP's? What would be a baseline rpm to launch at? Should I just go ahead and shoot for the moon right away or do LT1's like a more conservative effort off the line?

I am hoping that the size of the QTP's aren't going to be too much for the car (bought the Bogarts and tires used). What are the thoughts on that? FWIW the car dynoed 297 hp and 341 tq to the wheels before the 12 bolt and DS. TIA.

I'd try 14PSI cold, go make a run and see how it runs. Be sure to get them smoking for a good 4-5 seconds in 2nd gear. Count when you see smoke.

If it spins slightly(have someone watch, put a white mark on your tire.), come back to the pits and try 13psi for the next pass.

Sounds like a good batch of parts that should run good and not have traction issues unless the track prep is really poor. Have fun!

I ran those tires last year and 15-16 psi warm should work. Just do what Denny said above^^^^ and you'll be good to go.

Thanks gentlemen. I do have a question about the second gear burnout. To do this do you start from the getgo in 2nd or do you actually shift in the burnout box?

Thanks again. I have almost 200 passes on street tires but after a 4 year hiatus and never running on drag tires I can't believe how "green" I am. lol.
