New bolt-on LT1 times...

I went to the track Friday night here in Houston since it was the last night of the season and a cold front came through and blew all the humidity out. Track conditions were perfect, the DA was below sea level and the track had teeth

I think the only thing that is really limiting me is the stock stall. I tried flashing and stalling it up as hard as I could and I found flashing it did the best. I also was running the old style BFG drag radials with 25 PSI. I didn't lower the pressure any since the track was hooking very hard and I wasn't spinning at all. I'm wondering if since the tires are 255/50-16s, they are making the car shift too late being they are a bit taller than stock.

I also was able to weigh my car and it is weighing in at exactly 3700 pounds. Definitly not light (hell, my *** weighs 230!) and that was with the jack/spare removed. Here are the best two runs, also backed up by 3 other 13.30s passes.

60: 1.89
1/8: 8.48@82.61
1/4: 13.24@103.91

60: 1.91
1/8: 8.49@82.65
1/4: 13.26@103.43

Nice times. What kind of ET improvement did you see going to 3.73s?

Todd,

It sounds like you're having a really great Christmas at the track there in Houston and those two new best ETs are awesome! You're going to have your car in the 12s before long, all you need now is possibly a 2800 converter.

I would like to run my car down there some time after I get the new gears and slicks. Maybe I could get in to the high 10s. Also, I got my new Weld rear AlumiStars (15” x 10” w/ 7” backspacing) last week, the Moser 12-bolt w/ 4.30s is next.

Be safe driving back and congratulations again on the new times.

When I had the 3.23 gears, the best I could get was a 13.71@100.90 on a 2.10 sixty. It was a different track so that may take some of the difference. I think in reality, I honestly gained 0.2-0.3 in the quarter. Before, my cousin's Lightning would either stay with me or pull me but after the gears, I'll have him by 2-3 cars.

I really want to see how your car looks with those rear AlumiStars. They are some very nice wheels. My brother is giving me his NX wet kit this break so I may be in the 12s pretty soon. Hope things are good there in Oklahoma.

Or with a 100 shot I really think I could get some great gains with a converter over this stock stall. I'm just really happy with how these AS&M headers are performing on my car. Seems they are right there with all the long tubes as far as gains.

Yeah I know Neil I'm just going to wait until I do a tranny rebuild for a stall. Rather just kill two birds with one stone...

Smart idea but thats going to be prety expensive though having to buy the converter and the trans all at one time. But with the miles it probabaly wouldnt be worth it, but seeing it does have the miles, wouldnt be a bad idea to buy the converter and save it for a rainy day when the time comes.
