New best, but just barely

Previous best in 75 degree weather was 12.29 @ 115.98mph, 1.918 60ft.

Last night I was hoping for 11s because it was well below 50 degrees, I had switched from salad shooters to 15x10 BFG DRs and 15x4 radials on Telstars, plus I had taken over 30lbs off the weight of the car. I ended up with a best of 12.189 @ 116.64mph, 1.874 60ft.

I'm begining to wonder if I have the slowest 400+rwhp car. Whats weird is as the night got colder, my car got slower with each run although my 60fts didn't really change. My runs in order were as follows:

12.18 @ 116.64mph 1.87 60ft
12.23 @ 115.98mph 1.90 60ft
12.24 @ 115.98mph 1.88 60ft
12.31 @ 116.85mph 1.91 60ft
12.34 @ 115.89mph 1.88 60ft

I missed my goal of running 11s this year

You need some 60' My car runs 12.20's but with a 1.67 60'. I f I ran 1.8's I would run 12.50-60's. You have plenty mph all you need is some ET streets and an airbag. You would be running 11.80's with a 1.6 60 60'.

I really thought you were going to get it last night Waswa. I have 2 of your runs on vid that Tim recorded. Let me know if you'd like them and I'll convert them to VHS. I'd rather get ahold of a DV cable and rip them right to my PC but.....

Trying to talk Jason into selling me his heads/cam combo right now hehehehe.

Awesome MPH. If you get a good 60 and still don't run better, have a really good (and quick) shifter try a shot and see how they do. Maybe you just need to bang the gears a little quicker. Give taner a call .

You spent all the money to have the motor done. Now you need to finish you suspension. If you have a 12bolt or you feel safe about ET streets, go for them. Drag springs/ shocks plus a torque arm will help alot.

A Ford 9"/12-bolt is one of my winter projects. I already have quite a bit in suspension work. However I have been thinking about switching over to an auto. Right now I've got a TH350 but I'd rather have a 4-speed becasue i still want to drive it on the street alot.

I'm mostly upset about missing my goal this year of running 11s. So close The car is going back into storage until next year.

At your power level, I am not sure you will be quicker with an automatic. And you are already quite consistent. Also, having made the switch, I would reccomend a 3-speed auto only if it is really necessary, due to more hp than the T56 can handle. Street driving is a lot nicer with an OD, but there are only a few people making any hp with a 4L60E that lasts. So think carefully before making this decision. I am going to add a GV overdrive to restore street manners, but the OD is heavy and expensive.
