Neutral Stall

When I race,I try to stall at about 1200 or so with the brakes mashed to the floor.Would it be wise to stall at 1500 when it's in neutral and just put it in OD when it's time to go.For an auto it's really easy to go from neutral to drive.I was just wondering if it could harm my gears or trans.

You could do it a few times then take a broom and shovel out to clean up what's left after you blow the tranny to pieces.
And I'm not exagerating one little bit. Don't do it period. Bad idea.

Don't do it, even once.

No no no! Neutral starts are ILLEGAL at all dragstrips in the world and even now at 'Suddam Dragway' in Baghdad, home of the 'Middle Eastern Toyota Pickup Nationals', (machine gun class, bed full of people class, rocket launcher class).

If they catch you doing it, MOST tracks will ask you to LEAVE (if able)!!

HInk (please don't be offended by my attemt at humor
I have relatives over there too!)

You don't do it because you have an automatic transmission, not a manual. The automatic tranny use hydraulic pressure to operate the internal parts. If the tranny is turning at a high rpm then suddenly pulled into gear, parts will be destroyed.

If you want to launch at a higher rpm then buy a higher stall converter. Use a 2 step and or a transbrake to launch.
