My first 1/8th

I'm going to take mine to my local track Saturday. The one close to my house is only an 1/8th mile. I don't know what to expect to run. I read alot of post about times in the 1/4 but not the 1/8. What would be a reasonable expectation? Also should I run slicks or just stay with the street tires?

Re: My first 1/8th

Since you're supercharged, I think you should be aiming for at the least low 8s, maybe even high 7s depending on how well you hook. A stock 6 speed LT1 should run a ~9 flat in the 1/8th. Its hard to guess without knowing how much power you're putting down.

If you're on street tires, I think its a reasonable goal to try to obtain a 1.9 60'.

Dont get your expectations too high, the like most things, you'll get better with experience.

Re: My first 1/8th

Get a good set of drag radials and have at it. Before I got my tune and 3.73's I was running 8.8@80mph on street tires with 2.1 60'. With your set up I really dunno possibly 7.50's to 8.30's depending on traction, track prep. I'm sure your putting down some nice numbers but there are alot of variables, I've seen some mid 7 second cars at the track around here run high 8's cause they cant drive, have no traction or the track prep sucks. So just have fun, do the best you cana nd let us know how you do. Goodluck

I'm worried about hooking up. I'm thinking about getting the Mickey Thompson street radials. I can't see how they are dot approved but they are. Figure I should hookup alot better with those.
