mid to high 7's in 1/8 mile

Anyone here run mid to high 7's in the eighth and if so what do you have done. I have a friend who says he runs 7.4 all motor with a few bolt ons (headers, cam, intake, exhaust, P+P heads, 2.73 gears, a4, and slicks)
does this sound resonable, he does have 2.73 gears so I don't believe he can get the launch needed to get that kind of time. Anyways, let me know what you guys think?

I have friends,both with '99's.

-Long tubes,4200 stall,ET streets,free mods
11.9 in the 1/4

-Bolt-ons,manual tranny,stock exhaust manifolds,street tires
7.7 in the 1/8th

My '98 has a few mods but a few problems as well.I run consistant 8.2's and 8.1's,with a 2.0 60'.....

Cool

Heads, cam,LT's, 2800 stall all add up to times in sig.

It is possible your friend could be running the times he is telling you.

Mods in signature, I run in the 7.4's time frime. I also have 3.73's and a stall.

It might be possible but.....
Now your friend must have a different stall converter in it and a pretty good combo setup to achieve that.

Very reasonable. Buddy of mine's wife's car went 8.7 with lid and a passenger in the car.
