Making first trip to the track, need help

Ok, I am going to the track this Wednesday and I need some help. I have a 96 z28, A4. How do I work the peddle, do I just slam it to the floor or is there an method I should use. I'm new to the scene so any help would be appreciated.... thanks in advance.

if you are on regular street tires, dont go through the waterbox. do a small burnout just to get the crap off the tires, and you will probably have to ease into the gas. if you smash the gas to the floor, your gonna spin.

Thanks man, I have Daytona ZR's on the back... Here's a stupid question, how do I do a burnout? Hold down the brake?

Yea, hold the brake down then gas the rpm's up until the tires break loose. I don't advise just flooring it I say ease the rpm's up slowly until the tires break.

Just wipe the street tires clean. The tire compound of a street tire will just get more oily (as they are not meant to be heated up) and make traction worse if you do a massive burnout. Just a few quick turns like he said to get the debris off.

I can't really offer any launching help, since I am a M6 and I have enough of my own problems trying to get a decent launch ... which usually consists of annihilating the DRs on accident
