making a comeback

Just wanted to let everyone know that even though Jason Warren has been out if the picture for quite some time, we have something in the works....

Since the car has put down mid 9's a while ago and I know that updates havent been posted...here goes.

Last year we took the car to Clay City Ky 1/4 mile track and unfortunately the car decided to let the motor expire. Both heads decided to develop cracks. One was between 4 and 6 and the other between 3 and 5. Had her running a tad lean... The setup was the same as always...95 Z-28, 3450 race weight, 355 CI, 12:1 CR, LT-1 block and stock crank, Factory PCM with LT-1 edit, Stage 3 LT-4 heads, TNT plate kit, solid roller cam, TH-400, Duals...etc. Anyways the car went a 6.14@112.5 with a 1.28 60 in the 1/8 that day on a 150 shot and started chugging white smoke ending in a 9.78@134. Been down since. To date the best this car has gone is 9.58@140 with a 1.28 60.

We couldnt get the heads fixed, and since then working alongside Trick Flow and Total Engine Airflow, we are pleased to announce the car is almost 100% back. Currently the car has a set of brand new Trick Flow BETA test heads on it, never before mass produced and brand new to the LT-1/LT-4 scene. The heads are dowel pinned for both LT applications. Were pretty excited so far... Flow figures are spectacular in CNC form with .500 lift at 300 CFM (IN) 246.9 (EX) and .700 peak at 321.6 CFM (IN) 260.2 (EX). These numbers are definitely something for the LT enthusiast to think about far as performance goes... As of now, the assembly is complete and we are in the process of working our way down to the local mustang dyno. Track times to soon follow.

Re: making a comeback

Cool, I wondered what happened to that car. I am running a similar setup and ran into the same problem last year with my ported LT1 heads cracking in a couple cc's so I went with some LE ported Trickflows and have been 9.80's@136mph (175HP NX) on a 1.48 60'. How big was the solid roller that was in the car and what tire/gear setup are you guys running? LMK Later Clint

Nice to see him back in the game. Parts failures suck..all you can do is come back stronger. Keep us up to date on how it goes.

Re: making a comeback

The car has 29.5X10.5s on the back with a 4.10 gear. Im not sure on the cam specs...I believe its in the upper .500 range in lift and is a split pattern cam, chosen for nitrous.

Ill definitely keep everyone posted..

Re: making a comeback

We got back from the dyno, and here are the results:

Motor: 382 whp 389 rwtq

300 NOS: 644 whp 878 rwtq

At first the hp numbers seemed a little off, but we were comparing them to the last time the car was on the dyno-which was a dynojet. We put her on a Mustang dyno this time, and typically dynojet will register 8-15% higher. We also tried to tune a little, but Jason wanted to get out of there due to the 100/hr price tag-so we think shes got some more left yet.

I like the Mustang dyno because it allows the drum to produce resistance based on the cars weight (simulating the engine pushing the car going down the track, road etc)

Hoping to make it to the track real soon!!

Were very pleased, especially with the torque number...134 more ft-lbs than before-should be very interesting at the track!
