low trap speed?

ran a new personal best in the 1/8th last weekend.
60 ft. - 1.67
1/8th e.t. - 8.057
1/8th mph - 82.56

from what i have been told my trap speed is low for my times. Mods are long tubes, ORY, slp lm resonator, cai, tune, bbk throttle body, tci 3600 stall., moser 12bolt 4.10, mt drag radials 26", front sway bar removed, car weighs around 3500 lbs with me in it. i leave the car in drive, and launch at idle.

i'm not real concerned with the trap speed as e.t. is obviously more important, but am curious as to where to look to improve my mph. thanks.

the torque converter may be effecting the speed, gears too.

I would think 3 to 4 mph off?

we have the same speed in the 1/8 but, your half a second quicker

Ive gone as quick as 8.25@85.75

what was the temperature? and where?

the temp. was in the low 60s, track is in phenix city, al. and was hooking really well. I managed to pull the driver side front about 2inches. also forgot to mention the car is a 96 trans am.

Im not an a4 guy but i do know that stall is hurting you. The rear end is also somewhat responsibile. The rear is costing you some hp but allowing you to run quicker. The stall is flat out inefficient, or that is what i am lead to believe. Replace it with a yank or vig and the trap should go up a few mph's.

For a higher trap your going to want more power. A cam or H&C would really be the gain your looking for. n2o is also an option, you already have a 12 bolt you can hit it out of the hole.

lol... no internal engine mods that i am aware of, i bought the car from a little used car lot that didnt know any of the cars history. In fact he tried to tell me it was an ls1, and didnt know that it had a moser 12 bolt. but again it should be a bolt-on car, cuz thats how i had Ion tune for it.
