kumho??

Ok, i know these are not the best tires for the track, but they are what I have, and are not going anywhere for a while.

I have the 712's 275/40/17's. What psi should i run the rears at? They are kinda low on tread, so I'm not putting them on 17psi and doing a long burnout (which is pointless on street tires right?) i want to make it home afterall. So what psi?

When I run on my Kuhmo's, I run at 22 PSI. They actually hook pretty good for a street tire. Cook 'em a little bit and make sure they're dry before you stage. Everyone always says not to do a burnout with street tires, but that's the only way I've ever been able to get them to hook. Nothing outrageous, just enough to clean and warm them. Pull all the way through the water box til you hit dry land, and start your burnout there. HTH

dont touch the water box at all!! pull around..then back up close to it, then brake stand for 5 seconds! you are set. and yes, low tire pressure is the key also

yes it is Sac raceway, and the track prep is not the best,..............however, it is better than the alternative: Sears pt. Absolutely BLOWS for traction. Every time I've been there, not a single car hooked up even 1/2 decently.
