Nittos vs. Kumhos

I need new rubber and was looking at the Nittos 555s or for the price, Kumho ecsta supra 712s. The Kumhos are selling for 108 each. What am I losing at the track/street with Kumhos vs. nittos? Is anyone running DRs on the back and how do they effect the ride? I will mostly be street driving with an occasional trip to the strip. Thanks for your input.

The Nittos are great for the strip and street. I use to have my Z slide side to side in 1st, 2nd and 3rd. Nittos hook great and
give much better control. The only down side is they kick-up
rocks and such in your wheel wells when your driving on the street. No big deal

order some Yokohama ES1000's all around (tire rack has them in 245/50-16 for $89 each).. then get yourself a couple of SLP knock off wheels for $130 shipped (2 wheels total)
then buy yourself some Nitto DR (about 330 installed) and you are good to go!

I've noticed that Nitto's seem to wear thread a bit faster than most other tires I have used. I really like Falken though. I don't think they make them anymore....

Thanks for the feedback. Now where's the best deal on Nittos? It looks like 555 extreme for the front and DRs for the back. Discount Tire direct has them for 170/158 free shipping, can that be beat?

I got (2) 245/50/16 Nitto extreme drags at Discount tire for $341.00 installed with Road hazard. I suggest you R/H because these tires seem to pick-up road trash due to there sticky nature.
I run 26.5 PSI on the street. 19-21 at the strip. Ron

go with the nitto nt555rs, there's nothing worse than having a fast car with no traction
