On The Jenny Craig Program This Winter: -700lbs
500lbs out of a street car is not going to happen. ALL underdash stuff weighs in at ~80-85lbs. I wouldnt hack up the doors for a meare 15lbs in supports. You will be lucky to see a 200lb weight reduction in a *functional* street car....and that would include pulling out the AC (55lbs).

Plus there is more I havn't got a weight for the stock hood yet. And I have to add a rollcage to my car so that will change the weight . But these are the weights that I got off the parts on my car. Half were done at work on our scales that we ship parts to ford and GM everyday so they are accurite(sp) and the other half are from UPS when I mailed them to the people that bought them.

the track i go to i see little hondas and old pos's that have nothing but a steering wheel, driver seat, and shifter! no carpet nothing no door panels no dash!
i walked by it and was like wtf? i kinda like the idea of making my car faster with out all of the weight reduction. why gut a car you drive on the street? i mean replacing things for lighter aftermarket stuff is all good but airbags? frame supports? the pros dont out weigh the cons. accidents happen! jmo but its not worth it to me?
say you take out 200lbs of airbags, frame supports, and misc. stuff and go .2 faster. is it worth the risk for .2 tenths?
not to me

Wow
This may sound weird but put yourself on a diet. I myself am trying to lose 60 pounds before race season. So I got 3 months. I switched to aluminum heads, fiberglass hood, front rear sway bars, all wiring and computers. Front braces under the fascia and plastic ducting, air conditioner is a big one, then there are a few mods that I didn't here mentioned help horsepower and weight at the same time. Aluminum clutch drum in your tranny and a chromemoly driveshaft.
