If my car could 60 ft good....opinions.
If my car could 60 ft good....opinions.
86 Z28, ZZ4, simese runners ,hogged out stock intake,3:73,2500 converter,276/60/15 street tires.Best run is a 13.70@102+ on a 2.10 60 ft leaving at idle, flooring it 25-30 ft out.Car also has SSM liftbars.Whats the opinion of what it would do with good/sticky tires??I figure 1.85 or so 60ft's, and around 13.4x in the 1/4.think I am close in my "guesstimation"?
Thanks

Yer all torque there man. That's a LOW 13 second car in the making with a stock sized ET Street. A 26X11.5X15 will REALLY get you moving out of the hole or if you want to keep the RPM's closer to peak TQ, a 28X11.5X15. Both of those sizes are debatable depending on how wide of a rim you have also. Do a 10.5" wide ET street in either of those 26 or 28" diameters if your rim is less than 8" wide. if it's 8, I'd do the 11.5" wide versions.
The 28" tire I think would help because 3.73's and a mild TPI engine like you have is a mis-match. The taller tire will let the engine stay a little longer down low where the power is being made. I'd like to know what your shift points are. 5000? 5500? 4800? 6000?
Either tire will get you out of the hole in a hurry for sure.
