Just wondering how much weight savings you guys are seeing with the skinnies.

It was a while ago, but I think the Weld Pro-Star 15x3.5 with a 26x4.5 Moroso DS2 was just about 20#.

Welds are the lightest on the market. I picked up a Weld front skinny with tire in a friends garage and it couldn't have weighed more than 10 lbs.

My car weighs in about 30 pounds lighter with the skinnies. Weld Draglites with 165R's. Makes about a .10 difference.

I've compared the Weld Pro-Stars to the Bogarts, and with the differences in hardware, the 4th Gen-specific Bogart P1 Billets are lighter than the Welds. I've also seen some Monocoques that I believe were lighter than the Welds. Then there is the issue of course of "which Welds" are you talking about.

In that case I'm glad I didn't go ahead and buy the Welds I was planning. Good info!

Yes, Bogarts and Monocque are lighter in weight. For comparison, my 15x10 Bogart weighs the same as the 15x3 1/2 Weld Pro Star; at 10lbs. However, Bogarts and such are not recommended for street use.

my 15X3.5 pro stars weigh 26 lbs each with a 165R 15 radial.

Bogarts are MUCH softer than pro stars. My buddy has my old set of pro stars on his s-10 daily driver (skinnies and everything) and he has no probs with them what so ever- 4 years counting. Another friend of mine has a mustang with bogarts and he bent a front badly just by hittin a pothole.

Just so you know, Weld will not warranty those frontrunners if you break one driving on the street.
You will also be responsible for any and all damage to your car due to wheel breaking in half.
My cousin worked for Weld for a long time in customer service and they would get about one call a month with someone wanting the damage fixed on thier car when a frontrunner broke on the street.
All my cousin could do was say "Too bad, read your warranty"

That's why every manufacturer's 15 x 3 1/2" wheels say: "FOR DRAG RACE USE ONLY!"
