How Close to 12's????

Hey guys. I cant wait to get my car out for the spring and I have done a few things with the car over the winter. Ditched the 2.73 gears and put in 3.73's, got a custom tune from madz28, throttle body bypass, new plugs. I want to be able to break into the 12's on all motor with stock enternals. With the mods I have now is that possible. The only thing I have so far is an 1/8th mile time of 8.76 which I am told is equivelant to about a 13.5x when i still had the 2.73 gears, no tune and didnt yet have the throttle body bypass, this was also about 10 minutes after i made the 20 mile drive up to the track so the motor was already heated up. If I let the motor cool down completely and with the new gears and tune and bypass. Is it possible to break into the 12's? Thanks, Dustin.

You will need some sticky tires in order to do it......throttle body bypass wont do much for ya, the tune and gears should get you really close. With street tires I would say you will still be lower 13's.

Re: How Close to 12's????

Ran the times in my sig just a few weeks ago when the track opened. I'm hoping after I get some of my ignition issues settled, and a better 60' to be very close to the 12's. If not, then some 1.6rr's and 4.10's oughta help out.

Edit: My 1/8th times were 8.632 @ 84.10 mph
