help? first time to track w/ new setup
you want to run as narrow of a tire as possible and still be able to hook. the skinnier tire will be less rolling resistance. not that it will be much between 10.5 and 11.5 but there is a noticeable difference between the two tires when you set them side by side. you will be able to hook on the 10.5" tire no problem. my buddy ran 10.96@120ish on my 10.5" e.t. streets. definitely do what tnt says and go on a good night when they prep the track. most tracks don't do **** on street night and traction sux.

ok thanks..
i just bought the comp eng. shocks and the tq arm bushing but i think im gunna wait on the tires cuz i really dont have a lota $$ right now. im just gunna go to the track soon so i can practice my launch, rt and etc.. i need to get some experience behind the wheel and i wanna get my 60' down to atleast a 2.0 if not better and practice hitting all the shifts and just run more w/ the car. i went to speed today and the guys there said i should be trapping around 110-112 atleast so hopefully w/ more experience the better times will come. any tips on launching it, what rpm's are you guys w/ h/c and m6 launching at etc..
thanks!

Notevery car is the sameas far as launching .. SO your best bet will most likely slip it slightly form 2800-3000 to get the pig movingthen let it out completely andfloorit.. on street tires you might want to be more conservative.. so.. do until traction barely holds.. on the brink of wheelspin...
First of all I'm no expert at drag racing, my first time at the track was just a few days ago. I ran a 13.6 best and 14.3 slowest with BFG Comp TA Radials. I found that I was faster just "rolling" off of the line and then getting on it. Any amount of wheelspin resulted in slower times. If I got "macho" and tried launching with wheelspin I ended up with slower ET's. I know theres more in the car but I really believe running faster is having a more relaxed mind set, and not letting your adrelin rush make you jump on the throttle. I really didn't try and cut a great light either, I was more interested in my time than beating the other guy. I figure good lights will come later.
