I just pulled a couple of 1.88 60 fts. with bald 295 F1 Supercars with an A4 and stock suspension. aired em down to about 26 psi.

Eh - E-town's prep depends largely on what night it is. I prefer Atco on Tuesday nights. They run Gamblers then, so prep is usually good. Plus it's cheaper than E-town, and you can get more runs in.

Play with your tire pressures, get em hot, and keep practicing.

1.6 60 foot times? i think you are dreaming my friend............

Re: HELP cant get car to hook

I ahve pulled as best of 1.74 60' with my nito's at 22 psi and no suspension mods at a crappy south alabama 1/8 mile track with no prep, 1.60 should be no problem with some suspenion work. It seems like the guy's running the mickeys are hooking better though.

Leatherneck has pulled several 1.6's with the 245 Nitto's and a stock rear suspension in an A4 with a Vigilante stall and the hotcam . . . . so it can be done.

I'm looking to do the same, just have not hit the track yet.

Re: HELP cant get car to hook

The big thing for me was to get the tires moderatly hot. And that pulled my 60ft up nicely.

Re: HELP cant get car to hook

yea 1.6 was a typo, i prolly ment like 1.7 or 1.8, but either way with the right set up and some luck 1.6 is possible.

Sounds like a track prep issue.

Re: HELP cant get car to hook

I think sub 2.0 from a 13.8 sec. car is askin alot too much. maybe if you stick a stall conv. in there it'll get down there. but Id say 2.0-2.1 would be doin pretty good for your car.
when I had my drag radials on my Iroc, it was a 13.3 sec car. but it also had a 3500 stall in it at that point. it would pull mid 1.7's-l0w 1.8's consistently. I used about 22lbs pressure, held low gear for about 4-5 sec.s, then shifted into second gear and let out the brake while still accelerating. it'll start moving forward out of the box and once it leaves the box, you should feel them start to grab. maybe a couple feet out of the box and Id let off the gas and roll up to stage. mine hooked pretty descent doin this, I kept mine at 35 on the street.
BTW, I did some work to the Iroc to make it faster, but the stall conv. broke, so i had much more power, but a cheap torque conv. and I was running 12.6's with 1.9's sixty's was the best I could get the car to do w/o the stall conv..

good luck

Re: HELP cant get car to hook

lol well i dont think its asking to much, this is a old thread, i went to the track since with them, my car was misfiring horribly but i still managed a 2.0 60ft on my last run (i only made 2), and i could have probably maxed out the stall and droped that by a tenth or 2. but because of the missfire i only ran a 14.2 on that run, so if a 2 second 60ft is possible on it when it runs 14.2 i think it wont be a problem when its runing rite. lol and dont forget that a 13.8 second car with a 2.3 60 ft is probably a sub 13.5 with a sub 2 sec 60.
