Have ? about lowered car

Will this hurt your drag times. I'm looking to go back to stock cause when I bought the car it was lowered. The rear is hitting the bump stops in the rear when I lauch. Have any of you noticed your 1/4 mile times change when you went with this setup. Thanks John

I think as long as you run good, sticky tires, having a lowered car won't hurt you at the track. BUT, if you're having traction problems, then a lowered suspension isn't going to help, because you don't get the same amount of weight transfer as if the car was at factory ride height. If you like having the car lowered, leave it that way and just run DR's or ET Streets to compensate for traction (you may also want to get LCA relocation brackets, if you don't already have them installed.....they will help traction, especially since the car was lowered).

Lowering the car changes the suspension geometry. You should have LCA relocation brackets to correct the angle of the LCA. LCA should be parallel to the ground or slightly down at the rear. When you lower the car, the LCA is lowered at the front. You should also have an adjustable torque arm to correct the pinion angle.

You can also install air bags into the rear springs and play with air pressure but I wouldn't suggest it until the suspension geometry is corrected first.

You question is in regards to you car which is already lowered, right? In general lowered cars are more difficult to hook up at the strip. Going back to stock, or even some drag springs and shocks sounds like a good idea.

I ran 60' times in the high 1.5sec range with Eibach springs, Spohn torque arm, and LCA relo brackets on 10" ET Streets.

What I do is just swap in the stock rear springs every time I go to the track.
