Going to the track tomorrow..help me out here

hey guys..i am goin to the track tomorrrow, probably for the last time this year. My goal is to get a better time then i did 2 weeks ago. I ran a 13.7 @ 104.5. My mods are: HOOKER LTs, 3" Ypipe, SLP 2OTL, 4.10 Gears (M6) and Ram Air. My 60 was 2.17 and there was 100% humidity that day. I was shifting at around 5800-5900 and i was staying in 4th gear thru the traps (around 5800).
I was wondering if shifting little early (5500-5600) and going into 5th before the end of 1/4 would help my trap out?
Thanks
Macin

i'd leave it in 4th, but you can try goin into 5th. if you don't ice your intake, do that! after about 2 runs, throw down an old shirt or towel or something, and throw 1 or 2 bags of ice on the intake, let it sit for at least 30 minutes. DR's would help.

DR's with those 4.10s would REALLY help
But if you ain't got them now, you ain't got them tomorrow either.
Just hope that the weather is IDEAL for racing, and you should be good for ATLEAST a 13.3 with that trap speed and a 2.0 60'. My buddy pulls 2.0 60's on SH!TTY street tires w/ 4.10s, so it can happen.
Ice the intake too...as stated above. It really helps!
Good luck!

Your shifting sounds fine....thru the traps at 5800 in 4th is good. A couple of things you can do. Remove the front sway bar at home the night before and remove the serpentine belt at the track.

Are you planning on going to the make-up day? I want be there because I have to work this weekend

Yeah i will be there!! That sucks u are goin to miss it.

I am goin to be doing some experiments at the track: Cutout CLOSED/OPEN and RAM AIR vs SLP CAI.

I want to get the best time out the car as its driven on the street, so i will not remove any stuff...well i might take out the sub box out of the trunk this time, and i guess ill try shifting little bit earlier.

Shift at ~5,500 but leave it in 4th. Concentrate on a good launch. You should be able to cut 0.10sec off the 60'.

Good luck.

I think you need to shift as close to redline as you possibly can. Also you need to leave the car in 4th gear going through the traps. You shouldn't be anywhere near having to shift into 5th.
