Going 11.9

Hoping this might be enough for an 11.9 this year. Have a few people wanting to watch when I try.

Last season the car was run 3 times on opening night, stock small tires (factory air pressure) on street night. 14.3 @ 100.xx 14.2 @ 100.xx (foot from brake to gas) 2.4 60. New M6 GTO blew a coolant clamp, track was not cleaned that well. Power braked it and going into second almost threw it into the wall when I hit a coolant patch. Car ran a 14.1@almost 101. 60 was still low 2 range because of the slide, like a 2.3.

Low option 96 Z A4, t-tops, cruise, power seat. No A/C, front sway bar, spare or jack, rear seat. Mad Z tune, stock fuel pump, NGK TR-6 plugs (thought I would be spraying that season), MSD wires, Mobil 1 15W-50, GMPP cold air with no splash guard, BMR STB, auburn posi 3.42 rear, red line gear oil, LCA brackets, non adj Sphon LCA's and PHR. Stock everything else.

This is what is going in this season.
16 inch M/T radials, Pacesetter LT's, off road y-pipe, blew the fuel pump and have the Racetronix now, 1.6 roller rockers, 110 octane to go with the NX 150hp wet shot then another tune from Mad Z and go on a cool air prep night
I figure the tires alone would drop me into the 13's alone VERY easy.

GMHTP just did a near stock Impalla SS with a 150 shot that droped 1.6 seconds in the quarter on the juice.....

Dead low 13's on the motor 11.9 on the juice???

Re: Going 11.9

I would say it is definitely possible. I also read that GMHTP article where they did the NOS on the Impy and it motivated me some to do the same and see if I can click off low 12s or maybe even a high 11 with a 125-150 shot. I'm still debating on which nitrous kit to get and I am waiting a while in case someone local is selling theirs and I can snag a good deal on it. Anyways good luck.
