First time results
Well to say the least im pretty disappointed. I know this was my first time racing my car at the track and that im only 17, but when I can only pull a best of 13.8 at 103 that gets me pretty mad. On that run as the other ones I couldent get my 60' to go below 2.239. I also think that maybe my gearing isnt as I thought with the 3.23's. Also i'd like to add that my tank was FULL and I had 20 in each rear tire (street tires). Can someone please help me out for the next time I go out there. Do my times seem that bad?
Re: First time results
Fill the tires up to 32 psi and start from there. Street tires are not designed for low air pressure. The stiff radial sidewalls won't roll over and they force the center of the tire off the ground. Many times street tires get their best traction in the 30 - 35 psi range.
Re: First time results
I woudn't say you did all that bad.. A buddy of mine w/ a 02 z28 was pulling mid 14's his first time out.. Needless to say the car now goes bottom 12's.. but we all have to start somewhere.. Do like steve said and play w/ it or get a stickier radial and watch your time's drop.. you got yourself a low 13. sec. car if you drop to a 1.960ft
that and some better air and you could possibly tap the 12's ... OH and go w/ less gas next time as well
