Darlington Shoot out was good!!
Darlington Shoot out was good!!
I just have had time to get all the info in a format that is worth reviewing. This silver Z28 is going to be a bolt on car, some bolt ons will be soon and some will be later, just depends on time/money and the arrival of our new son in Feb.
I am keeping a spreadsheet with all the pertinant information so I can go back and reference anything I need to. but the short version is that the car ran very well!!
2.09 was the best 60' and they were all the way up to 2.45. Best 1/8th mile was 8.73@83 and of course the times were as bad as 9.17 and the MPH as low as 80. 1/4 ET 13.44 to 13.85 with MPH from 98.98 (burped in 4th) to 104.78. DA was from 271' to 500' from the first run to the last.
I was hoping to run a low 14 but after the first pass I knew it was going to be a good day.
First pass was us teching in, unloading the car of misc stuff and pulling up, note we just drove 4+ hours to the track and it has 127k miles on it. first pass was 2.175/13.7@102, we were shocked and knew it was going to be a good day! The Russ mod went in several times and finally got a 2.168/13.44@103.35.
Mods on the first run were a hooker aerochamber muffler, hurst shifter, !CATS, !KS, stock air box with no filter, !front bumper support, !jack/spare, MadZ28 OBDI conversion. Do not know weight, scales closed. Mods after the 1st two passes were a CAI and Trick Flow Elbow. I will add that the last pass of 13.44 was without the belt on it.
not blazing fast but better than we thought. All runs were with Chrome SS wheels (315 rears).
Time to update sig!

Oh well, this one will run what the other did with less work/money. And then see what happens....
