Chance of reaching low 13's?
Chance of reaching low 13's?
Just got back from practice night at Infineon Raceway in CA .. this was my second time out, first time I only got one run in a 14.1 @ 102 if I remember right. Went back tonight and ran a 13.7 @ 104 mph with a 2.3 60'. Traction seemed really ****ty ... A buddy of mine in 03 Cobra who usually runs 12.7's was havin a tough time as well, ~.3 above his usual. I also had a 105 mph run but with a worse 1/4 time. You think it's possible for me to get something like a ~2.0 60' on street tires and a low 13? As far as prep went, I had 24 psi in each rear tire and just spun them a few times to clean them off before staging. Mods are in the sig.
well if you can go from a 2.3 to a 2.0 it should certainly give you a low 13 time. what kind of tires are you running? what temperature/humidity were your runs at?
when i broke into the 12s it was with a 106-107 trap and only a 1.9 sixty, so a 104-105 with a better 60 should be worth of mid to low 13

Last week most cars at my track were running .3 to .4 higher than the week before simply due to barometric pressure and humidity differences. There are many factors involved with mph and ET comparisons.
Often on street nights track prep is nearly non-existant at many tracks. In regards to 60' times, anything is possible but there are many factors. If you spun at 24 pounds, the next run try 22 pounds or 20 pounds. Each time make only one change so you can quantify the difference. Add air to the front tires, disconnect the front sway bar. Have a full tank of gas... There are many tricks to try.

I ran 13.216 @ 103.97 with just a CAI, cut-out, 3.73's, and a 2800 stall converter, oh and drag radials.
You have more MPH than me, you should be able to get there with a good 60'. Mine was on a 1.87 60'. No where near my best.
