Brake Upgrade/Drag Racing

I was looking into doing a brake upgrade but had a few questions. Most aftermarket systems I see require a 17" wheel. So how do you run your drag rims?? I am looking at getting a set of Telstars, but they are only 15"? So what are you guys doing about brakes? Trying to make an all around good performance car, but this situation is confusing me. All help is appreciated.
Thanks

Except for road-race types, most people leave the rears alone except for maybe a pad upgrade.

That's what I figured I would do on the rears, but what about the fronts? Aftermarket calipers and such won't work with a pair of skinnies will they? Street tires will be 17" but will be using skinnies at the strip. Are there any upgrades available for this situation?
Thanks

You need spacers for most wheels even with the stock fronts to use 15" wheels. So it's really no different, AFAIK.

Factory style 1987 disk brakes up front with all new parts.

Ford 9" with 11 x 2 1/4" drum brakes in the back. I have no problems slowing down from 119 mph to make the first turn off road.

Question

i believe Strange offers a aerospace package that is a good weight savings! i have yet to get any info on it, but I am looking into it. however it may not be the best alternative for alot of street driving.

Jay Billingsley has the Strange kits. Like most race parts, they're not recommended for street use. Why not just upgrade to the LS1 fronts? They'll still fit under a 15" wheel and will give you a little more stopping power. You will have to grind calipers/run spacers to get them work w/ drag wheels though.

Not all wheels require spacers. My Convo Pros fit perfect, no grinding or spacers. I just wish they made them w/ a 7.5" b/s.
