The Bitch is Back!

After a long break from racing, we finally got The Ole' Red Bitch back to MIR for some much needed test and tune time. The last time we were at the track the tranny decided to do its best spy vs spy impression and oil down about a third of the track. We had to replace the 4L60 (which was spilt clean in half) with a Monster Transmission prepped 700R4 and 2200 stall converter. We also discovered the drive shaft front yolk took a shot and had to be rebuilt. Over the winter I installed a CC-306 cam with Trick Flow springs and retainers and had PCM of NC re-flash the chip.
We made about eight passes on the new set up and the tranny worked flawless. I am very happy with how hard it shifted and how consistent it is. As the day progressed and we played with shift points and it did get a bit quicker. The final pass of the day was a 12.50 @112 mph. Not bad considering the motor is otherwise stock. I was a bit bummed about the 60' times though. I was hoping for something in the 1.6 range but couldn't seem to get it out of the high 1.7's.
I was thinking that the converter is hurting us. I shot some gopro footage and when you play it back it seems the car just doesn't seem to come off the line hard. Then she picks up and runs strong. The motor pulled strong all the way to about 6500 where we were shifting. Think I should step up to a 3-3500 stall?

Yes, the 2,200 RPM stall is hurting your 60-ft with the CC 306. Go big.
