anyone install a Jegster rollbar kit....4th-gen
Let me preface this with that I do not intend to ever run 11s with my car. I am looking for some mild protection (should the unlikely, but possible happen) and chassis rigidity.
If we took the basic weld-in 4pt kit they offer and shortened the rear struts and attached them to the top of the wheel well, not only would it stiffen the chassis, but it would allow me to keep the rear occupant area open and the rear seat can still fold down.
We would move the main hoop as far back as possible (without interfering with interior parts) to try keeping it behind the leading edge of the b-pillar.
I have SFCs, but the car can still twist some and I am trying to get this pig to hook up consistently.
Anyone used this kit and know how well that main hoop fits...? Anyone ever add a bar such as I am describing for similar purposes....?
We've done the cage stuff before on the other 4th-gen we have so the work won't be a hassle. I think I can strip the rear interior in an evening and we can weld the bar in the next. Painting and reassembly will slowly be done while the car is pressed back into commuter duty after the welds are cool.
