60ft. times

What are some respectable 60ft. times. I recently went to the track (the first time ever for my car and me). I didn't run as fast as I hoped, but closed the evenening with a 13.87 (5th run, go figure). My 60ft. time was 2.1, and I was wondering what kind of 60 ft. times are considered "respectable". My car is a 2002 Z28, all stock with a "Zed" style electric cutout.

1.9 is basically GREAT for street tires...
1.7 for drags..
1.5 for slicks if your a PRO (this one your rear might have a prob with)

DEPENDS ON MODS, TRANSMISSION, TRACK PREP, WEATHER AND GOALS

That's why I stated my current car conditions. I am interested in stock numbers.

yes.. for sticky street tires, 1.9
for drag radials 1.8 and maybe a 1.7 if the car is setup right

for bone stock tires, I would think that a 2.0 is more in line with whats possible.

good luck!

I would suggest looking into an airbag for your right rear spring.. helps preload and helps you get that extra .1 ya may need off your launch!

Just like Einstein(sp) said , alot of factors play a role.

With your car, on street tires with a prepped track, a 1.9 would be pretty phenominal(sp). The norm (or respectable) would be 2.0-2.1.

You can't just go by what kind of tires you have, that's a big misconception. For EX- I went a best ever 60ft of 1.7 on Nitto Drs, BUT with a stock stall, 2.73 gear, and basically a stock car, save for three major mods- CAI, exhaust, and well, I'll let you figure out the last ....

Best I ever did on street tires with an M6 was the high 1.9's. I am running a lot more hp than you, but with street tires the 60' is a function of traction, not hp. It's probably a little easier to get the max out of the tires with an automatic, but I'd say anything in the 2.0's is good and 1.9's excellent. As a comparsion, just switching to 11.5x26x16" ET Streets took nearly 0.5sec off my 60'. You won't see that much of an improvement without a lot more hp (or very short gears) though, and you will break a stock rear.

Cancer is bad
sun is big
rich is old

a C is a bad gade
that truck is big
a dinosaur is big

rich has a lot of power...

Sorry, the car is an M6 with sport appearance package (does that affect aero dynamics at all ). The track was hot and sticky. Running all night with N20 and Alcohol burners on the same strips. This was my 5th run of the night, and fastest ( I am still learning, r/t was .687 ). There, that is all of the conditions I can think of.

Damn it Trey, you are right. I am getting old. It's been months since I had anything hot and sticky

Don't even worry about RT until you have figured out how to launch it. Especially an M6! Concentrate on one thing at a time. For instance, I am going to concentrate on finding something hot and sticky.

Stock LS1 M6 on street tires, 2.0's should be average.
