1.300 60ft on stock 10 bolt & suspension???

Ok here is the deal, I run 60ft's in the 1.5's all day long foot brake stalling to 2500 or so. Well first run tonight I pull a 1.300 60 ft on a deep stage but I wasn't ready when the ligths start coming down so I didn't get to stall it up and I knew right of the bat it lauched hard but I can't beleive it ran a 1.300 60ft. Bottle pressure was too low and it wen't soft and only ran a trap speed of 96.17mph(1/8 track) so I put the bottle in my buddies car under the heater for a while and ran it again and stalled it up like always. Will a converter hit harder it you don't stall it up???I'll post both slips below and you tell me if it looks about right.....I'm kinda thinking the lasers screwed up or something. Anyway I ran a new best et & 60ft on a slower trap speed. Oh yeah I'm hitting it with 200hp off the line. I do have airbags and rear drag shocks & front sway bar removed....Was this some kinda fluke???

I'm thinking the timing lights screwed up. That's a huge increase of 60' time but a poor run compared to the second run.

After the 1.300 60' time, you are actually slower at each other timing mark. The only way that could happen is if you had a massive amount of torque to get you off the line that quick then the car just falls on it's face to slow down that much.

Theroretically from the bests of both those runs, you should have run 6.813.

More hp in that second run from the higher mph. Not bad almost hitting 100 mph in the 1/8 mile. when most cars are struggling to do that in the 1/4.

Yeah I'm with you on the lights screwing up. There is no way this car has a 1.300 as it sets but it had me wondering LOL. Nice car..... big block Camaros

Has to be a screw up in the lights. I don't see how you can loose that much in the 60' and not have it show at the 1/8th.

Yeah, & it's also funny that it is a flat 1.300. But like I said I know it was a better than my average 60ft because I ran a 7.03 (personal best et) at an lower than normal trap speed. Bottle pressure was so low on that run the car was poping before the shifts. Anyway I fully agree it wasn't a 1.300 but damn thats an evil, twisted ordeal getting my best et, on an unusually low trap speed which would mean I also had to set my personal best 60ft...but what it was I don't know. Thanks for the input guys.

Jared.

Jared, what size slicks are you running? Also have you done any bottom-end work on your motor. A 200 shot out the hole and it's hooking?

I think you did better than a low 1.5 but I doubt a 1.3. Who knows but I notice my car runs better leaving off idle the brake stalling it so you should try it again and see what happens. Later Clint

Derrick, It's really a shot somewhere between 175hp & 200hp. I think a 200hp calls for a 78n & 41f, 175hp I think is a 73n & 38f & I run a 76n & 38f and it's hooking on a 26x8.5x16 et drag as for the bottom end I run the stock crank with eagle 6.0 rods, keith black pistons & all arp hardware.The rings went bad in my stock bottom end so I had to do something on a budget.

Clint, oh I'm defenately gonna try it again should have an 8.8" in soon.

You must have some excellent track prep. I'm running the discontinued 26x10x16 ET Drags and I can barely hook on the 150 shot. It still has some spin out the hole. Oh well, maybe when I get some 15x8 draglites for the rear with new 26x10x15 ET Drags I can hook the 175 shot. More sidewall.

As far as track prep, I really couldn't tell you how good it is because it's the only track I've ever ran on LOL. Yeah the 15" tire should help you out, thats what I was gonna run but gotta great deal on these.BTW me and you would have one hell of a drag race

If you don't stall it up the car will 60' better. But your reaction time will be slower. Why don't ya try leaving like that again

Rick, this is my only car and I drive it to and from the track & I'm sure I can count the number of times I can launch like that (no preload on the rear)on one hand lol! Anyway I'm gonna try it again thursday if it doesn't rain .....thats what tow trucks are for.

Taner, I've downloaded two video's of your car, a 9.60 & 9.68 runs. That car is awsome........freaking awsome.

A friend of mine got time slip of 11.00 @ 100mph. He was all happy but before his best was a 11.4 @ 120 mph. I figured that a hamburger wrapper blew across the light.
