Yet some more why do I have knock retard questions.
Yet some more why do I have knock retard questions.
Stock car with LT4 KM. Always see 10-12 degrees of retard at WOT
Runs pretty good thouh so Im kinda worried about making the retard go away
Thinking either a) the car likes les timing or b) it will really run good if i can get the knock to go away.

Whatever its doing, the dang thing runs like a beast. I'd make sure the sensor is functioning properly...picked one up at the dealer for $36 out the door...should find it cheaper @ rockauto.com.
I totally just gave up trying to figure out why my car pulls soo much timing at WOT . I zeroed out my Max retard table so it cant pull timing above 2500 rpms and now monitor Knock sensor activity solely thru knock counts . Even with all the timing my car pulled , the knock counts didnt go up at all thru the run . Given that , I'm pretty sure its all false knock .
If you have the ability to do this , absolutly verify your retard problem is from false knock readings and pay close attention to your knock counts

In addition to what Z28SS said try this: Put a tank of 101 or 104 (unleaded) in your car and check retard.
Since you are posting here, I assume you are able to program your car. So reduce the aggression of the retard. If you are concerned with predenotation, keep your max retard the same, but reduce how quickly it retards the timing. Try reducing it to .2 deg/millisecond or less instead of stock.
