Several people have had issues with cables from that site not working at all.

I don't know if that is the problem here, but just FYI. Maybe try another cable.

I purchased a mastach cable and it didn't work, found schematics for the aldl converter and posted them on the threads, do a search for mastach and you'll find the schematics. open the cable up and make sure you're getting 5 volts to the power pin of the chip, if not, then you'll have to perform a little mod on the circuit.

The cable just might be the problem.. I really don't understand how such a simple cable doesn't work properly, kinda makes me mad actually. I bought a datalogging cable to diagnose my not working properly car to figure out what is wrong, but I just ended up with a not working cable after a week wait for thing since it came from Cali.

I found that link to schematics. I have no idea of how to even read the schematic on the top of the page and the prototype that they got on the bottom of the page for rs232 connector makes no sense, cuz they talk about using a 6 pin connector, mine is a 9 pin connector and mine looks nothing like what theres does internally. There is also no blue wire or 10 ohm resistor from what I can see in there.
