Wiring single electric fan

Hey not sure if this is in the right forum but.. I have a question I'm looking in to changing my electric fans to a single high cfm fan bc I need slightly more room for a bonnet filter to fit on my front mount turbo setup.... The question is .... How would I splice in a single fan to work with the stock wiring harness....there are to plugs on the stock harness... I would only need one just not sure which one to splice into... I believe one turns on a specified temp and the other later... I would like my new setup to come on and stay on at the first specified temp....
Car is a 97 z28 m6
Thanks

Knowing what you are working on might help.

here is a schematic (ref shoebox) of the fan setup, use the bottom (3-relay) not the top, it's the same as your '97 except the C100 to PCM is different. The '97 drk green is called relay 1 control goes to PCM pin C1-11 and drk blue called relay 2 & 3 control on the '97 gos to PCM C1- 10. http://shbox.com/1/fan_schematic_1995.jpg . The PCM grounds the drk green wire to run fans at low speed (225* F) , picking rly 1 only. When it gets hotter (235* F) the PCM grounds the drk blue wire and then rly's 1,2,3 are all picked to run the fan motors at high speed. So you could use the drk green wire at 0V to pick your own fan relay and run your single fan at 235* or program the PCM fan on lower. ALSO if your single fan draws less than 20 amps you can use the stock relay setup . Just remove the 2 old fan plugs at the fan connections, tape off the right connector so it does not hit/short anything. Then splice the left fan harness light blue (+12 from relay 1) wire to provide +12 to your new fan connector and wire the ground side of your fan motor connection to a good chassis ground. You will end up running your single fan off relay 1 using the PCM low speed setting temp, relays 2 & 3 will still be functional but not used in the circuit.
