Will a manual fan switch eliminate the pcm from turning them on

Hey, i had my car tuned by pcmforless.com and got them to turn the fans on earlier for my 170* thermo. But it has gotten unbearably cold and i changed back to a 180* thermo, so i was wondering if theres a way i can either change the settings in the pcm for free, or should i just do a $5 manual fan switch mod.

My question is if i do a manual fan switch, will the fans still turn on via the pcm settings? and if i forget to turn them on will the car overheat in the summer?

I have the SLP manual fan switch, and the PCM will still turn the fans on normally if I leave the switch off.
