Will Freescan work on VISTAs?

I downloaded freescan and set the compatability mode to XP and even tried Win98 but it says "system can not find specified file" but I click OK and it brings up a window that looks like it would log but when I try to select Com Port it's blank...

and I am not at a car to actually hook it up to see if it will log....

I have no experience with vista, but if your new laptop doesn't have a serial port that is why your ports are blank. It will only show up when you actually have something plugged in, be it a usb adapter or cable with it built in. This was the case with my xp laptop that had no serial ports on it. My shop pc does the file not found bit but it still scans fine, dont really have an answer as to why.

I like the moates.net pieces. I have the usb one with it built into the cable. No issues for me easy to install etc. Used it to program a dozen or so lt1's numerous times.

I have this one and the cabl2 version that works on 95 lt1's and obd1 conversions. No problems with either and the install was very simple imo.
